Description
A refreshing Vietnamese Iced Coffee, or Cà Phê Sữa Đá, is a strong coffee served over ice with sweetened condensed milk. Perfectly balanced for flavor and a caffeine kick.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons coarsely ground Vietnamese coffee (or dark roast coffee)
- 4 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- 6 ounces hot water (just off the boil)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Brew the coffee: Place a phin filter over a glass. Add the ground coffee to the phin, gently tamp down. Pour 1 tablespoon of hot water over the coffee to allow it to bloom for about 30 seconds. Then, fill the phin with the remaining hot water.
- Let it drip: Allow the coffee to slowly drip through the phin into the glass. This process takes about 5-7 minutes.
- Add condensed milk: Once the coffee has finished brewing, stir in the sweetened condensed milk until well combined.
- Add ice: Fill a separate glass with ice. Pour the coffee mixture over the ice.
- Stir and serve: Stir well before serving. Enjoy immediately!
