Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Arabic coffee beans, finely ground
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/8 tsp saffron threads (optional)
- 1-2 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup dairy milk (optional, for creamier version)
Instructions
- In a traditional Arabic coffee pot (dallah) or a saucepan, bring water to a boil.
- Add the finely ground Arabic coffee beans to the boiling water. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in cardamom powder and saffron threads (if using). Simmer for another 2-3 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Add sugar to taste, stirring until dissolved. Adjust sweetness according to your preference.
- If desired, stir in dairy milk for a creamier texture. Heat gently without boiling.
- Strain the coffee into a serving pot or directly into small, handle-less cups (finjaan) for serving.

Serve hot in small cups. Accompany with dates or other traditional Middle Eastern sweets.
