Description

A refreshing Arabic Coffee (Qahwa) perfectly balanced for flavor...

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Arabic coffee beans, finely ground
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/8 tsp saffron threads (optional)
  • 1-2 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup dairy milk (optional, for creamier version)

Instructions

  1. In a traditional Arabic coffee pot (dallah) or a saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add the finely ground Arabic coffee beans to the boiling water. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Stir in cardamom powder and saffron threads (if using). Simmer for another 2-3 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  4. Add sugar to taste, stirring until dissolved. Adjust sweetness according to your preference.
  5. If desired, stir in dairy milk for a creamier texture. Heat gently without boiling.
  6. Strain the coffee into a serving pot or directly into small, handle-less cups (finjaan) for serving.

Pro Tip

Serve hot in small cups. Accompany with dates or other traditional Middle Eastern sweets.
